Solar PV
Solar electricity systems known as Solar Photovoltaic (Solar PV) capture the sun’s energy using photovoltaic (PV) cells.
The cells transfer the sunlight into electricity which can be used to run household appliances such as washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers and kettles. The term Solar Photovoltaic is very appropriate with ‘photo’ meaning ‘light’ and ‘voltaic’ meaning ‘electricity’
Electricity using this system can be generated even on an overcast day as you do not need direct sunlight to make it work.
